At 4 months old, Quinn is so fun and one of the most relaxed and happy babies I've ever met. She is pure joy! I fall more and more in love with her all the time, which hardly even seems possible considering I loved her so much to start with! She is growing so so so fast and I just want her to slow down a little so I can keep soaking in her baby-goodness.
At 4 months old, Quinn:
Is babbling a lot and will hold a babble conversation when someone is talking to her. She is also laughing which is pretty much the best sound in the entire world.
Is drooling like crazy. Chris thinks she's teething but I make fun of him because he says it all the time, just like he did with Lily, even though she didn't teeth for a very long time. :)
Loves to stand on her cute little legs and seems to be pretty strong for such a small baby. If she's anything like her sister, she'll be walking in no time.
Was 13 pounds, 10 ounces (45th percentile) and 24.75" tall (56th percentile) as her four month check up. We aren't really sure what to do with this average sized baby ... we're so used to Lily's giantness that now having a normal-sized baby is a weird experience.
Was a champ during her 4 month shots. Recovered quickly and only had a minor fever the next day. Even when she had her fever she was still happy and smiley ... such a good baby!
Most likely has a case of reflux which causes her to throw up so frequently and never want to be laid down on her back. The doctor said she'll outgrow it and as long as she's growing well we don't need to give her medicine. While that generally corresponds to our more natural approach to parenting, sometimes the throwing up does seem uncomfortable for her, so I really hope she outgrows it quickly.
Has rolled over once from her back to her belly.
Still farts like crazy. Gas is her biggest complaint and one of the only reasons she cries when we are home.
Went a record 11 days without pooping this past month. She is, on average, pooping once every 5-8 days so 11 days meant a phone call to the doctor, who told us that as long as she wasn't vomiting an unusual amount, wasn't particularly fussy, and didn't have any hard spots on her belly then it was fine to wait 14 days before bringing her in to the doctor. The doctor suggested bicycling her legs and tickling her butt hole with a Q-tip to make her poop. When she said that I proved that I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy because I giggled for about 10 seconds. That is the weirdest thing ever! Thankfully, she pooped soon after that phone call. :)
Is becoming a Mommy's girl, probably because I am her food source. She doesn't like to be too far away from her next meal.
Is still 100% breastfed and doesn't like taking a bottle anymore. This is so great for us but also a little tricky because it makes it hard for me to go anywhere without Quinn. Thankfully there isn't need for us to be separated much, but I know it makes it hard on her caretakers whenever we are apart.
Eats quickly, normally around 5-10 minutes of active eating followed by more comfort nursing. She is very easily distracted while she is eating and often pops off to smile up at me while milk dribbles out of the corner of her mouth. Chris likes to joke that she is drunk on milk when that happens.
Loves, loves, loves Lily. She smiles so much at Lily and Lily is actually really great at calming her down when she's upset. I love their relationship.
Frequently takes her pacifier out of her mouth and holds on to it with a death grip. She flails it about and sometimes manages to get it back in her mouth, but not frequently. It is like an ever-present toy to her. :)
Has started chewing on her hands a lot. She has also started sucking her thumb and her fingers, even though she has a pacifier most of the time. I know this will come back to bite me if this becomes a habit, but it is so stinkin' cute!
Is wearing 3-6 month or 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers.
Has beautiful green-grey eyes. I really hope they stay this color because they are gorgeous!
Is at her fussiest in the car. She just does not like riding in the car, which is so strange since so many babies love the car. Lily never liked it either. We make sure to take plenty of pacifiers on each car ride.
Quinn is such a blessing to us! Last night Chris was talking about how it is hard to even remember what our lives were like without her because she just fits so well into our little family. We just adore her and couldn't be more thankful to have Quinny Quinn as our baby!

Even before I read your last comment by Chris, I was just thinking it seems like Quinn has always been a part of our lives ... beautiful, wonderful, so very special part of our lives!
